Mendoza! Wine and Sun!

We are in Mendoza!!

Great news: The sun came out!!!! It's been raining since our second day in BA so we are so happy for some summer skies. We spent the last 2 days lounging by the pool sunning ourselves and reading.

Ahhhhh!!!! LOVE it!!!

Pool view from our hotel room....that dot swimming is Sue doing laps this morning!

The Mendoza province sits in the western-central region of Argentina, just over 1,000 km west of Buenos Aires. Its a city famed around the world for its vineyards and wine production. The western edge of the province shares a natural border with the Andes Mountains and Santiago, Chile is about 380 km further west. The low-lying plains and continental climate make the province of Mendoza an idyllic wine-producing region. It produces over two-thirds of Argentina’s wine. The end of summer is harvest time, when the grapes reach full ripeness....we were lucky to witness the harvest during our wine tour.
The HUGEST sandwich ever!!!

Wine is super cheap $10-12 for everything!
AMAZING dessert!!!

It's a really beautiful city, easy to walk around, long wide walking streets lined with cafe's, tons of parks. You could get very comfortable here. Our hotel has a big gorgeous pool as well which we have been enjoying very much!
There is live music everywhere too, every time we sit for a meal there is either a band or a guy with a guitar serenading the crowds nearby, it makes for great atmosphere.

We plan on partaking in some wine tours as well and have a bike trip booked that has us bike 18km between several wineries and serves a 4 course lunch with different wine to taste with each course. I'm sure my biking ability will disintegrate throughout the day! haha

Free entertainment!
