HO CHI MINH CITY(SAIGON)

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

I had to cross that...twice. And no, it did not stop for me. Super scary!! I had to just walk into it slowly and inch my way across in between the moving bikes, cars and buses hoping for survival! Totally adrenalin inducing.

I arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon, this afternoon...crazy, busy, fast paced city. Honking and chaos. I walked over to Ben Thanh Market...huge market selling everything you can imagine. I bought some cool art to bring home.

Best. Cream puff. Ever

I'm getting up early tomorrow to take a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels which are 45 Km southeast of the city. They are a 3 level 75 mile long underground network of tunnels that were used by the Viet Cong as hiding spots, weapons storage and living quarters, as well as communication and supply routes during the war. It turned into an underground city housing 10 000 people.

Then Friday and Saturday I'll be on a 2 day, 1 night tour of the Mekong Delta.
Then a free day before flying out on Monday.

I'm going to head out for a massage and then bed!
