Sorry I haven't written yet since I've been in Europe but there was no internet access in the small town I spent my first week in in Denmark.
The plane ride was loooong but we had a good time on the plane...crappy movie though (Never see the Truth about Charlie...Worst. Movie.Ever.) They lost some of our luggage on the plane connection in Frankfurt but they sent it to the place we were staying the next day. It was a long 20 hours of travelling but we made it in one piece.
We stayed in a huge house outside of a little town called ...Middlefart, yes, you read that correctly! I've noticed many German and Danish words sound dirty...for example Meitwagon...hah!
Denmark is very nice, it was similar in climate to Vancouver...rainy and foggy. We did get 3 beautiful days at the end though. It is the start of spring here, the grass is turning green, the hedges, vines, perennials and bulbs are blooming and budding leaves and the temperature has been between 5-10C. It's been raining half the time but a nice change from the snow!
Our house has 6 double rooms, a pool, hot tub, sauna, lounge, kitchen and sun garden. It was right on the shore of the ocean and incredible! Everyone speaks fluent English here so it is easy to get around.
We spent a day in Arhous, where there is an old town form the 1600's that has been restored onto an open air museum (kind of a really old heritage park) It was fun but a bit chaotic with 8 people.
The next day me, Greg F, Greg T, and Ross separated form the group and went to see Fredricksborg castle, which is amazing, and then to Copenhagen.
Copenhagen is a great city, we somehow managed to show up 5 minutes before the changing of the guard at the kings palace so that was neat to see...Ross made one guard laugh which was hilarious.I can't believe how well people are dressed here! Everyone dressed like they are going to a job interview at all times, I felt like a slob.
The wedding was great and it went off without a hitch. Sue looked great, the church was 900 years old and very romantic, the dinner was unbelievable and we danced until 2am.....what more can you ask for?!
On Friday Sue's friend Lour held a huge house party for us in her apartment in Odense. From what I remember it was fun...the last thing I remember clearly is bonging beer (it's kind of head to refuse with 30 Danish people chanting your name)...but seriously though, I am never drinking again. I've said that before, I know, but I really felt like crap the next day!
Next we drive back into Hamburg and I say goodbye to the wedding crew to hop a train to Berlin!
